MSc by Research and MD Degrees in the College

MSc by Research

The School offers MSc degrees by research: both for university staff and external applicants who require a specialist postgraduate qualification to progress professionally. On average there are approximately 40 students who are carrying out an MSc by research mainly in the Schools of Dentistry and Medicine. Staff who undertake an MSc by research may be eligible for partial fee waivers.

For further information on projects available for MSc by research potential applicants should contact supervisors in the appropriate research division /area of interest.


The School of Medicine offers MD degrees to medical graduates of the University of Dundee or local NHS medical staff. At any point there are approximately 45 students undertaking an MD.

Prospective MD students should contact the Medical School PG secretary, Claire Neillie and refer to MD regulations.
